Tears of Paradox by Daniella Bova

This is my next read,  a dystopian novel which is the first in the series "Storms of Transformation." From the blurb:
Jason married the girl next door. He and Michelle dreamed of raising their children among family and friends in their idyllic, peaceful hometown. But then the Storms begin. Friendships disintegrate, fathers and sons become enemies, and trust is a thing of the past. The old ways have become what those in power term evil. What used to be evil is now the law. The evil brings with it a creeping darkness, gradually overshadowing the town’s inhabitants and turning their lives upside-down.
The Storms force pregnant Michelle to hide alone in a basement, far from home. Jason remains in town, living a lie as he tries to conceal the truth from the authorities. But will their own flesh-and-blood betray them?
The set-up definitely sounds exciting and dramatic. Also upcoming...

Underlake by Kia Heavey

On deck is this Young Adult novel with a fantastic cover that seems to be a mix of mystery, romance, and possibly supernatural.
The blurb reads:
Pampered and cultured Katie Welch has had the same friends her entire life, but lately she doesn’t fit in anymore. Then her mother drags her to a remote farm town where the local kids are friendly, but they don’t know the real her. Even the grownups in her life seem to have lost their way. In the throes of growing up and growing apart, Katie discovers the most unusual boy swimming in her lake and for the first time in memory, she connects. John is refreshingly old-fashioned and wise in ways Katie has never encountered before, but it’s clear he’s hiding something. Katie is just so happy to have someone she can relate to, she’s willing to defy her mother and ignore the warning signs - until it's too late.
Intriguing, right?

I'm going to try to read fast, but I should admit that I am also spending a lot of time on the blog set-up. If you've noticed, we have a new header and you should soon see suggestions for posts  you might like at the end of each post.
