We have more non-fiction writers on our AoSHQ list!
First of all is Andrew F. Branca, author of the best-selling Law of Self-Defense, now in its 3rd edition. This is an invaluable resource for any gun owner.
We also have a cross-over writer from the new AoSHQ Chess thread - Ray Cheng, who has written a chess book titled Practical Chess Exercises: 600 Lessons from Tactics to Strategy. I'm not a player, but the amazon reviews are glowing.
Last but not least is David Reid Ross, who has written two books on Islamic History. The first, House of War: Mecca, the Qur'an, and the Propaganda of 675-695, covers the second Islamic Civil War which was the formative event of the religion. The second, Throne of Glass: Formations of the Islamic State, covers the Ummayad regime from 695 to 715. I haven't read either but the subject matter seems very relevant to understanding current events.
That's it for now! Let me know what you've been reading lately.
