July 4th Book Sales
July 4th weekend is here, and with it come book sales:
Smashwords is having a sitewide sale this July.
Browsing through this is rather like going through storage locker of books - lots of absolute crap (pardon my French) with a few unexpected gems. The gems would include Elisabeth Wolfe's Texas historical saga Loyal Valley series and her historical fantasy WWII thriller Look Behind You. Enter coupon code SSW50 at checkout to get 50% off which brings the price of each of her books down to $1.50.
Sci-fans might want to try libertarian-ish writer Ken Doggett's To Summon The Blackbird which is only $0.99 with coupon code TJ24J (good through July 4th only).
Lisa Scottoline fans will be happy to know that she has 3 books in Amazon's Kindle Daily Deals today for only $1.99 each. While you are looking at Kindle Daily Deals, don't forget to check out the Kindle Countdown Deals too.
Camp Nanowrimo
Attention writers and aspiring writers! Today is the start of Camp Nanowrimo.
From the folks at Nanowrimo (National Novel Writing Month), Camp Nanowrimo is a free online one-month writing support group. In their own words:
Camp NaNoWriMo is a virtual writer’s retreat, designed for maximum flexibility and creativity. We have Camp sessions in both April and July, and we welcome word-count goals between 30 and 1,000,000. In addition, writers can tackle any project they’d like, including new novel drafts, revision, poetry, scripts, and short stories.
There are a lot of writers who swear by Nanowrimo, so if you've been thinking of writing your story / script / magnum pous, why not give it a try?
