First Day of the Writes of March challenge!
Declare your goal and post an update, in the comments or on social media with the tag #WritesOfMarch. It can be any writing-related goal you like.
My goal: To free write every day.
I picked this goal to get into a creative, rather than blogging, writing habit.
Someone asked me what free writing is. From wikipedia:
Free writing is a prewriting technique in which a person writes continuously for a set period of time without regard to spelling, grammar, or topic. It produces raw, often unusable material, but helps writers overcome blocks of apathy and self-criticism. It is used mainly by prose writers and writing teachers. Some writers use the technique to collect initial thoughts and ideas on a topic, often as a preliminary to formal writing.
Update: I wasn't sure what I would free write today, but last night an idea occurred to me and I am having fun with it today. My brand new $1.99 spiral notebook is getting scribbled on.
How's it going with you?

Thanks, vmom, for the links to books. I especially like the free ones. I check in here regularly, and opened up my dormant blog 'cuz I had 9600 words in a short story and no place to put them.
ReplyDeleteAwesome! I'm gonna tweet a link to your blog.
DeleteI love free books too. There's another one coming tomorrow.
Thanks for the tweet.

All the photos are my own, taken around the two and a half acre property. Haven't seen deer or the turkeys since I took the pictures, since the neighbor lady stopped feeding the forest critters. I have some relatively good shots of sandhill cranes; just need a story to go with them.
