Rave Reviews for a New Urban Fantasy Series
A new urban fantasy series titled War Demons by Russell Newquist.
Here's the blurb:
When he came home, so did they...
Driven by vengeance, Michael Alexander enlisted in the Army the day after 9/11. Five years later, disillusioned and broken by the horrors he witnessed in Afghanistan, Michael returns home to Georgia seeking to begin a new life. But he didn't come alone. Something evil followed him, and it's leaving a path of destruction in its wake.
The police are powerless. The Army has written Michael off. Left to face down a malevolent creature first encountered in the mountains of Afghanistan, he'll rely on his training, a homeless prophet, and estranged family members from a love lost...
But none of them expected the dragon.
Jim Butcher's Harry Dresden collides with Larry Correia's Monster Hunter International in this supernatural thriller that goes straight to Hell!
War Demons is the first book in the Prodigal Son series. It's already gotten great reviews. Dan Humphreys, author of Fade and A Place Outside the Wild, says in his review:
We first encounter our protagonist, Michael Alexander, on a mission in Afghanistan that’s about to go horribly wrong. There’s enough mystery and terror in this intro to get you hooked. In my case, I read the book in a couple sittings over the course of a day. It was a struggle to put it down, and considering the work I put aside to do so, that says a lot for War Demons.
Richard Paolinelli, author of Dragon Award Finalist Escaping Infinity, sums up his review with:
I can honestly say it is a 5-Star Special that you must read.
