Hi Diane! AoSHQ is a right-leaning blog that hosts a Sunday Book Thread, which in some ways lead to me starting my blog. A lot of the writers I review hang out in that thread.
Hello, as a rabid lurker, occasional commenter, I would appreciate being included into the Moron Horde Writers List. My first ever book published is with Smashwords and is entitled The Man From P.I,S,S... Poker Investigations, Sensible Solutions. A professional card player catching out cheater and others who would abuse the game! A very clever, funny and engaging read! Thanx for your help. John Campbell
Hi John, send me a link so I can add it. Can it also be found on Amazon or is it just on Smashwords at this point? You can email reviews at (name-of-blog-dot-org)
Sending you a link is my issue. I am so ignorant with these new fandangled computer thingy's that a link to me is sausage. I don't even know how to check Amazon. Can you kindly help in any way?
Hi. I have enjoyed Turtledove's alternate history novels a lot, but I'd hesitate to classify him as either conservative or libertarian. Great writer though.
Hi. Are you the same person who made the suggestion about Turtledove? Anyway, I was thinking of starting a list of "favorite conservative writers" and Correia would definitely be on it. Sarah Hoyt too and many others.
Well, I'm a long-time lurker both of the Sunday Book thread and of AoS, so I don't know if that qualifies me as a moron author, but I have two books out under the name "Callan Primer": "A Wind out of Indigo" and "Company Daughter" --both available wide.
She's a one of my favorite writers and a great blogger, but I didn't think she actually hung around the HQ. If I every get around to making an expanded list - probably something like Favorite Right-Minded Writers (is that a good title?)she'll be on it.
I'm a regular under a different name, but I'd be proud and honored to be a Moron Author. My two novels (so far) are A Darkling Sea (Tor, 2014) and Corsair (Tor, 2015).
Hi Jim, I will be sure to add you. Thanks for commenting! Btw, if you are on goodreads, I encourage you to join the AoSHQ Moron Horde group there which is a mix of readers and writers.
I’m a fellow moron author. Occasionally comment as Law of Self Defense at AOSHQ.
The book thread was kind enough to favorably review the 2nd Edition of my book, “The Law of Self Defense” when it came out three years ago. Last week we launched the fully revised and updated “The Law of Self Defense, 3rd Edition,” and mailed off a review copy to the book thread. Doubt they’ve had a chance to read it yet, but I expect they’ll do a review of the 3rd Edition soon.
The Law of Self Defense, 3rd Edition” is available both from our web site and from Amazon.
From our web site people can request a custom autograph, and use discount code AOSHQ at checkout for 20% off (basically, free shipping). http://lawofselfdefense.com/book/
From Amazon people may get free shipping if they have Prime, and they can also get the Kindle version of the book: http://amzn.to/23pLG1v
Hi Andrew, I'm a big fan of your work - wasn't aware you hung around the blog. I'll be glad to add you! (Just to clarify, I'm not officially connected to AoSHQ, just a a regular, and my list is more of an unofficial fan list )
Hey votermom, you can add this one to my list of books https://www.amazon.com/Glimpse-Summer-Lisa-Mathisen-ebook/dp/B01G90ULQW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1466437265&sr=8-1&keywords=glimpse+of+summer thanks pixy-banned krukke1
Hello, Ma'm, My name is john Campbell and I just recently published a book on Smashwords. My problem is I'm 73 years old and cannot send it to you. The title is The Man From P.I.S.S. Which stands for Poker Investigations, Sensible Solutions. I would like to be combined with the great people in the Horde. Can you help? The book is free and also pretty damn good! Help?
Hi, I'd love to be included in your moron authors list - been reading / hanging out at AoSHQ for years - The book is some years old (2007) but it's a great coffee table style book - of torture devices. And it's apolitical, so no hand-wringing over modern interrogation and such.
I've been reading Ace for years and commenting occasionally. I'm published by Penguin/Roc
Titles include Vampire Earth Series (Way of the Wolf, Choice of the Cat, Tale of the Thunderbolt, Valentine's Rising, Valentine's Exile, Valentine's Resolve, Fall With Honor, Winter Duty, March in Country, Appalachian Overthrow, Baltic Gambit)
Age of Fire Series (Dragon Champion, Dragon Avenger, Dragon Outcast, Dragon Strike, Dragon Rule, Dragon Fate)
And a media tie-in Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Lost Cult
Hi-- I'd like to be included in your list. I am a long-time AOSHQ lurker with only occasional comments (I usually read the threads after it's too late, or I get willowed as I have the last three times I've tried to post.) Anyway, I go by the handle Ruthless and am the author of several books available on Amazon and through my own publishing brand, MoabBookWorks. I have written a murder mystery, Retirement Man, that won first prize in an international competition, chosen by the executive editor of Penguin Books. My YA thriller, Sarah and the Dragon, mixes action adventure with SF as a young woman meets an ancient alien. My techno thriller, Quantum Cowboy, features a high-functioning Asperger's Syndrome genius who discovers additional dimensions of time (set in the near future and featuring lots of action with SEALS, etc.) My non-fiction book Dead End Path: How Industrial Agriculture Has Stolen Our Future provides insight into the coming Food Wars. And, my latest is a non-fiction book on the art of writing fiction. It is titled Word Power: A Writer's Guide.
Hope you can add these to your list. I'm afraid I like to write more than tooting my own horn, but it doesn't pay to hide under a rock and lurk all the time. -- Best, David
Much like Mr. Brown, just above, I've been a reader (lurker) of AoSHQ for years now; I just eschew 'social media' comments as, well, I'm not a social person.
Nonetheless, I understand that "politics is downstream from culture," so, to-date, I've written three books that, while SF, are conservative-libertarian with a dollop of orthodox Catholicism on top!
My works are "The Fourth Law," "Echoes of Family Lost," and "Henge's Big Day!" here: http://www.goodreads.com/author/list/13524855.Clayton_Barnett
If up to Horde standards, I humbly ask to be included.
Hi: I was wondering what I could do to raise the profile of my new novel, Mexican Hat Trick. It's going to be published on Amazon on October 11th. Here is the link: https://www.amazon.com/Mexican-Trick-Blackfox-Chronicles-Book-ebook/dp/B01LYI8HON
That's great! I'll put a post up for it on release day. Good question - and the CLFA writers probably have a lot of great ideas about this. I think I'll try to turn your question into a blog post
I just found this blog, how awesome of you to do this! I would be humbled if you could include me among the horde writers. I write SF, Fantasy and military history. Thanks, you're awesome!
Hi, you mentioned my book in the Sunday Book Thread in March and the sales for that day and the next took the book to Number 1 in its Amazon category, a testament to the loyalty of the Horde. I would appreciate being on this list. Ron Marinella- Nonfiction, Exercise, Men's health (really anyone). Finishing Strong! Strength Training for Old(er) Guys. Self published on Amazon. Paperback and eBook. Thank you.
Thanks for the include!
ReplyDeleteThanks for putting me on the list. It's Inhuman BEINGS. But that's close enough for a cigar. Tell me where to send it.
ReplyDeleteCorrected now. You are welcome!
